My name is James D Ray and I currently reside in Hutto Texas which is a suburb north east of Austin. (Austinite). I have been married for ten going on eleven years. My wife and I have a blended family that consists of two daughters and a son. I married both of my daughters and now I have two son-in-laws and six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

I served as Associate Pastor at Olivet Baptist Church in Austin Texas. I am a third-generation pastor which means I grew up in the church. I was called at the age of 24 but did not acknowledge my call until 44. I have been in the ministry for 24 years. I have always served as associate pastor and Bible study was my primary ministry.

I began my formal education at Austin Community College earning an Associate degree in Business Management. I transferred to St. Edward’s University earning a Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies. Next, I earned my Master of Arts in Theological Studies at Austin Graduate School of Theology. I studied at George Truett Seminary Master of Divinity Program at Baylor University Waco Texas before transferring to South University, where I studied for a Doctorate of Ministry.
